It’s been less than a week, when I had some sort of epiphany. There is this hard problem with social media that so many groups are trying to solve these days. Mastodon and other initiatives want to make online communities decentralized, to be more fair and inclusive. This is a good thing I believe, but it also creates a new set of problems. A new Home!

What if we can form a neighborhood of websites that are all connected by conversations? A social network web of public websites, just like how it was. Instead of a simple "follow" button, the contact would be established when you first reply to a post on another website, and both the original post and its replies are then reflected on both websites. This website should eventually become my social media replacement. Who knows, maybe you’ll soon have your own social space too? Imagine ditching Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and visiting your own website, to check what’s new in your neighborhood?
